Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited is a public sector undertaking. The company was formed after the reorganisation of FCI into 5 Companies. Till 1992 , the Company was a wholly owned PSU. During 1992 and 1993, 7.5% of the equity has been disinvested to Financial Institutions, Public etc. RCF has two plants located in Maharashtra: Trombay and Thal. The Thal unit is primarily engaged in the production of urea (capacity of 2.05 mmtpa post the completion of the revamp) besides a few industrial chemicals. The Trombay unit is engaged in the manufacture of a wide range of industrial products, complex fertilizers (capacity of 0.66 mmtpa) and urea (capacity 0.33 mmtpa.
